TRIPLE-THREAT MUSICAL THEATRE & ON-CAMERA SUMMER WORKSHOP

This unique program is designed to train the performer in multiple disciplines: Drama, On-Camera Acting, Dance, and Voice. (Previous arts training is preferred, but not required.) Qualified students will have the opportunity to participate in a live performance when all the elements can be utilized in scenes, solo acts and/or a full-scale live show. Our final presentations are designed to allow each child to shine in the area(s) that best suits them. The shows are custom written by Robert Clater and Lesia Kaye to match the skill level of the participating students so that they will all have a moment in the spotlight.
Our philosophy is to provide professional quality training while building self-esteem and having fun. Our expertise is in finding each child’s unique skills rather than expecting the same result from each student.
Drama - Performers will focus on creative imagination, character development, acting techniques, improvisation and scene study for live performances.
Dance/Movement – Our Dance Technique sessions aim to give students the confidence, grace and ability to learn and perform routines, utilizing the Kaye Technique designed to develop flexibility, strength, and stamina for ages and levels as appropriate. This class will be beneficial for the experienced dancer and the beginner. Boys will be comfortable here!
Voice – Vocal technique for singing and speech. Vocal coaching teaches dynamic presentation and strategies specific to the performer’s “type”. Non-singers will learn how to connect recitative and rhythmic speaking.
Acting on Camera - This comprehensive workshop includes everything that you need to know about acting on camera. A video camera will be used throughout. The acting techniques explored will be for: Soap Operas, Sitcoms, TV Dramas, & Film. Students will participate in age appropriate filmed scenes for the culminating program.
